November Review:
Due to unforeseen circumstances this review was completed in January. Growing in Faith: As indicated by our performance measures we have seen more parent involvement at school celebrations and liturgies. With families being able to enter the schools we have a greater sense of community within our school and with parents and parish. We have established a student leadership club and teachers are supporting the direction and ideas established by the club. Student Success: Staff are creating goals with students and families that are achievable and are celebrated at quarterly reviews. Ongoing feedback through google classroom and work sent home for parents to engage with their children in their learning and celebrating successes. Currently data is being collected from school division and government assessments to determine next steps in instruction and school wide goal setting. Staff continue to implement the MathUp resource as an effective tool to deepen student's math understanding. Excellent Place to Work and Learn: Ongoing professional development is being accessed by staff to support the diversity of needs of students in our school and to support the implementation of the new curriculum. Collaborative Response model is being utilized as we integrate suggestions and ideas to be used with students from our multidisciplinary teams. Strategies are also shared among teachers. A collaborative working environment was identified as one of the top reasons Our Lady of Victories is a great place to work and learn at our one-on-one meetings with the principal. Building Our Future Together: Classroom driven assessments are being utilized to inform instruction. Data and evidence of learning is being used to inform the choices for professional development of staff and to develop school wide standards of practice. We continue to provide STEM opportunities as we utilize the funds through our government grant encouraging girls involvement in science, technology, engineering and math.
